freak accident with my on my first drive with my RX8
This sunday i just bought my yellow RX8 with mazdaspeed intake and high performance exhaust, as i get in the freeway a big metal rod came from the freway wall and slammed into the front of my bumper. I stopped and checked it was a big scratch on the front bumper running all the way down. So pissed i tried to scratch it off and to my amazment the scratch started to disappear. i was so relieved to see there is no dent or a single spot damage. but what kind of idiot would throw a longggg metal rod in the freeway not to mention at a brandnew RX8 with a customized body kit. i just had to get this out cause it's one those things i have to share. Do any of you have a crazy story like mine. the RX8 is one tough car in my opion any other car would lose a bumper.

Someone didnt necessarily throw it out there window rather, it may have fallen out the back of a truck that was overloaded with junk. Trucking companies like to do that so they dont have to make extra trips which costs more money. The problem u experienced is more common then u think. Good thing it didnt cause any permanent damage.

Be glad it hit your car and didn't go through the windshield. It saddens me when I hear of highway deaths from flying wheels, etc... they're missiles that don't give the victim a chance to respond usually.

Wow, that's a close call....the only unnerving road debris "accidents" I've had thus far (knock on wood) was hitting a ferret (this thing was huge...about the size of a cat) on the highway and hitting a chunk of slush/ice on 95. I second that Rx8 only lane...or at least a sports car lane for people that actually value their vehicles (Prius' are excluded ).

Could be worse, guy was trying out a 1.5 million dollar red Ferrari today and banged it right into a wall - total they think - it was an unusually lovely one that looked a lot like an 8!
