Fresh Air
#2
90% of the time my windows are down up here in MA. Only time they've been up is when it topped 100 degree's or its raining. Swear our car's aero force's rain water INTO our car. That and I kinda find the outside air being forced into my car kinda stale be it cold or warm just doesnt feel "Fresh".

in my wrx I had a sunroof and heated seats so unless it was over a 110 or raining even during winter it was windows down. with the 8 I am not sure yet but I would have to say right now it is 50/50

Windows up, AC on. Two reasons.
First, with my old car I used my last can of R-12 a couple of summers ago. I kind of had my fill of "windows down, enjoy the sauna."
Second, I can hear the note of my Rotary whether the windows are up or down. But if they're down, other sounds intrude. Sounds from lesser vehicles. Boing-boing from passing pistons. Unclean!!

I just know my mileage is still in the same range windows up and AC on or windows down and AC off.
Anyway, lately I have been doing windows up and AC on partly because I can't hear my radio too well with the windows open and also that all summer I have been having to take a detour on back roads that are very dusty and I'm trying to minimize the yuck that gets inside my car. But, they reopened the road when I was on vacation so I don't have to detour anymore.

yea, i've heard both sides of it, and in most cars, it fluxuates. Just this last weekend I drove a 300 miles round trip and filled up 1/2 way both times of NOTHING but HW miles. On the first 1/2 tank i filled, I got 19.28 MPG...that was with AC on windows up, second tank I got 21.77 MPG windows down AC off. Both tanks were cruising at 70MPH whole way.
Just thought i'd toss that in there for any short term comparison.
