Front Air Dam - oem -
Anyone know where to get an oem type front air dam for an 05 RX8 at a reasonable price. Local dealer here in Florida is fetching 400+ for this little piece of fiberglass. There's lots on Ebay but not much less than that. There are a few inexpensive ones but finding a Whitewater Pearl one not easy.
Anyone know of a supplier that has bare stock that will paint one in Whitewater Pearl. I've seen this done for other 8 body parts.

You can paint it yourself in your garage if you can't get the correct color, by using paint from automotivetouchup.com. They make 12 oz spray cans (just like you get from Home Depot but in the correct Mazda color).
You can spray a whole bumper for $40 including color and Urethane clear coat. And the color match is better than I have had done at body shops.
I bought a Titanium Silver front spoiler from azpartsexpress and just sanded it a little and then repainted it in the correct color for my car for a heck of a lot cheaper than what the local dealership wanted for for the spoiler.

And from what i'm hearing, the discount air dams everyone seems to be talking about needs to be primed/painted as well. The one i bought was already painted with a factory matching color. Again, few bucks more, a TON less headaches and footwork.
Allow me to reiterate...you get what you pay for.

They all come already painted and primed from the mazda factory. Its only if he doesn't have the color you want that you would have to paint.
And of course the aznautoparts parts are brand new... unlike what you get at most wreckers... which may or may not include all the screws and will not have the OEM paper templates (really needed when doing side skirts or the like).
I for one would not pay $150 for a used one, when I can pay that for a brand new one.

exactly. I wasn't about to fall into any BS that i hear so many others fall for, just to save a few dollars. Look for the best REASONABLE deal, and take it. You get what you pay for.

I have a feeling that they get overstock of discontinued colors because when people from the forum first discovered this seller, it was mostly Lighting Yellow and Nordic Green. As more colors were discontinued they started showing up at azpartsexpress. Now that the 2009s are out and don't use the same aero parts just about all colors are available.
EDIT: azpartsexpress has changed the way that they list RX-8 parts, so if you are looking through their store you'll see only yellow parts. If you click on the part you'll see the colors that are available for that part, then you specify which color you want when you pay. This threw me off because they used to list each color separately so you could just scan the pics of the items for your color. For a while I was looking for side aero flares and I'd go to their store and was thinking "damn, they only have yellow parts now."
