front plates.............

So I got pulled over for not having a front plate mounted on my mazdaspeed front bumper, the cop told me I needed have a plate mounted on my front end and putting one in the front window wouldn't be legal.......................I guess the cops have extra time nowadays. How do you guys mount plates on the madzaspeed front??? Any pics would be helpful.

I'm a huge fan of the relocated license plate look - see this thread
There's an example of an aftermarket bumper in there. I'll probably be doing it on my OEM bumper this weekend (if all goes well).

I placed a license plate frame in the black plastic piece above the center mesh grill...looks pretty good there in my opinion...I live in NJ and have received two tickets because I had the front license plate on my dashboard

zip tie it to the grill and no matter what you do, do not drill holes!

The dealer installed my Mazdaspeed kit. There are two pre drilled holes/bolts for my license plate. I live in Delaware so.....no need for a front plate in this state, which is great. I removed mine because I have the Revi with the ram air kit and the license plate blocks the air flow. My suggestion relocate it to the front right or left.

I have seen like a little bracket made that somehow hooks up underneath the bumper then just bolt the plate on the bracket...but not exactly sure how they made it

Zip ties for sure. I have no front plate and have not been pulled over or ever cited by an officer for it, cross my fingers. I did get a parking ticket fix it for a previous car w/o a front license plate.

Personally, I think putting it on the dash makes it clearly obvious the driver is not putting it on the front on purpose. I'd say keep it in the car with some zip ties and maybe the cop will let you put it on there.

In Texas you need a front plate however i never run one and i have been pulled over before and most dont hassle me because its only a 10$ ticket. So in my opinion not having it on and taking the risk of getting pulled over every year or two is worth the 10$.

ticket

Use 3M tape. Two small tabs of it, no more. Go to the CHP office and get the ticket signed off. Pay your small fine, and remove the plate again. We could all write our congressman to get the law changed. There is no good reason to have one on. We could save millions of dollars in costs and waste by not even making the front plate.
