Care new User !!!!

I am sure this has be raised a thousand times, but whilst I am v. happy with my RX8, the fuel consuption always leaves me dashing for a fuel station, more often than Wayne Rooney at a liverpool brothel.

I am only getting 25 miles per gallon , whereas the spec says you should get 33/34. I am not driving it hard. Its the 190 BHP engine, lord knows waht the 230 does.

Anuy ideas anyone

 

Obviously you are not referring to US gallons. Not sure how the fuel mileage claims are generated in your country, but in the US they are not very realistic. However, my fuel mileage has averaged just over 20 mpg (US gallons) for 10K miles which is well within the claimed mileage here. Some have reported mileages as low as 12-16 mpg (US).

In any case, there are hundreds of threads in this forum dealing with the poor fuel mileage that SOME are getting. Please do a search and read some of them to find out what the imperical wisdom of the members attributes that to. And you might want to put on your flame suit immediately.

I'm getting about 14 miles per gallon

 

i get like 21-23 mpg driving too conservatively. People get angry with me on the freeways.
