...yeah, so my dumb *** pushed it. I've been making notes on how far I can go w/fuel light on....the highest was 28 miles...till yesterday morning! ...now that's 28 stop and go/city miles...not highway cruz. Anyway, from the time the light first blinks on, till the time you're SOL in the middle of the street was exactly 32.1 miles. The thing that sucks, the gas station was about 50 yards away... Won't be doing that again. Good thing though, I was bugging out because I was afraid the car wouldn't start up when I put some fuel in....thing started up like a champ..not even a hiccup. Damn I love this car

I always go by the trip odometer and ignore the light. I never fill up before 250 miles in my comute. I find the fuel gauge a good indicator. If I go 125 miles to 1/2 then no problem 250. This normally puts the neddle well below the "E", but the most I have taken is 15.1 gal. I have 35,000 miles and (knock on wood) never ran out.

I would expect that the light point is not very well controled in each vehicle. SO one guy may get 50 mile and another 30. I slowly went further and further each fill up and learned my gauge.

Try it in the middle of the desert.

About 20 years ago I kind of ran out on the interstate west of Phoenix, headed toward town. You know where the sign is on the wesbound side that says "No services for the next 500 light years?" Car started sputtering just as I approached the exit for the very first gas station that side of town. Weaved the car back and forth to get the last few drops to pick up, and wound up coasting into the station on fumes.

July, and even a walk of a couple of miles would have been very bad news. Ever since then I zero my trip meter when I fill up, and watch both the gas gage and the trip meter.

sheeze
i was driving through arizona once ina e-350 van like ... back in june?
i dunno
amazing v8 can get some miles out there.

one car that i found great on gas was my toyota celica gts. i got 430 miles on a single tank. and the celicas and the rx8's tanks are both the same size (i think...)
just amazing car

but the most amazing car ive driven so far is the rx8
great handling and a hoot to drive. i hit 9k RPM every time i drive
i love the way my engine sounds at 4k though. its got like this whining noise that sounds like a jet almost. i laugh at it every time.

as far as for gas in it. i wouldn't try to go past 300 miles on a tank. i think thats pushing it. unless you go 65mph. but then thats a waste.
