Sounds good. Where did you get it and how much did it cost?

I spoke with a rep from Fujitsubo at the SEMA IAS a few years back when they had the show in Atlantic City. He gave he a DVD with video/sound clips on it for pretty much every application that they sell.

I was thinking about getting it, but I'm not sure if I want to drop that much cash just to have the exhaust sound cooler.

from what little I could see of it, the design of the muffler looks similar to the borla. I'm not a fan of the exhaust coming in at a right angle to the muffler because the tip on the other side tends to get less flames/soot than the other.

My friend's family owns a shop.. they hooked me up with a deal on the exhaust, $700. (MSRP is over 1000)

www.kamispeed.com

It is a bit pricey but its perfect for me since its not too loud.

I agree 100% about the sound. Of all of the exhausts I've heard on the 8 I think the Fujitsubo sounds best. It's not obnoxiously loud, and it has a nice tone.

I can't honestly justify spending $700 on a near nothing horsepower upgrade, though. When I go forced induction, then I may take the plunge.

unless it's 3" including all the flanges, it's not really worthwhile. almost every exhaust is designed to mate up to the factory cat, so they all reduce down to 2.5" even if the exhaust is stated to contain 3" piping.

That's a good point that I didn't think about.

What kind of exhaust setup are you running?

Currently: b&b catless midpipe, hks legamax catback.

I will have the turboxs midpipe and catback by the end of the month though.

I didn't bother getting the turboxs before because I didn't want too much noise, but the XS full exhaust is 3" all the way and only costs half what it used to - $499 brand new. So there is no better deal for an exhaust system for the RX-8. Period.

The tips need to be extended though, a minor drawback, but easily fixed for $100... and maybe a presilencer for the sound if it's unbearable.

3" the whole way would be more like what I want. And for $500, how could you go wrong.....unless it's total junk or something. This is gonna require more research on my part.....I'd like to hear a sound clip when you get it.

It's too bad Fujitsubo doesn't make the Super Ti model for the RX8. At SEMA IAS they had one for the EVO8. It was 3" and Titanium the whole way! It weighed almost nothing. I was able to hold the thing in one hand with no effort at all.
