Funny story from a kid in my class

So on friday when i was at school, i was looking at this rx8 on cars.com ( one iv been really debating on buying) And the kid next to me decides he would give his two cents about the car... So he was like why would you want one of those? You should get a real car like a v8 instead of that v6. I just looked at him and started laughing. So my response was its not a v6... and he replies back with oh damn its a 4 cylinder? Wow that sucks... I just shack my head and continue my search.

Ya that's the usual question... "Is it a v6 or v8?" So damn hard every time trying to explain it has no pistons... :|

That kinda thing happened to me too. I had just bought the car and filled it up with gas down the street. When I was filling the tank up, a guy asked me if it was a v6 or a v8. I told him it was a rotary and he replied "ohhh.... those things last forever, you just wind it up and he keeps going and going" The funny thing was he purposely stopped at the gas station just to talk about the car and went back on his lovely way. He didn't even buy gas haha.

Hahaha, a hybrid.

When I tell people it's a rotary, they kinda nod, like they have a clue, and then just stop asking questions...

It's got 2 rotors in epitrichoidal shaped rotor housings that are connected to an eccentric shaft.

From that it's Obvious that you end up with 3 expanding and contracting volumes with one power stroke per rotation of the E-shaft per rotor.

Why people can't remember basic engine theory I'll never know...

Normally I just take out my keychain and show people when they ask about the motor. They walk away no less puzzled, but at least they don't think it has pistons anymore.

That's why some countries have schools that segregate stupid kids from smart ones.
