gas mileage in the near future?
i will probably end up getting an rx8 in about a year or 2 so im wondering how the 2006 or 2007 models will be regarding mileage. do u think that mazda will try to make the mileage better? do u think rx8 will still be the same?
any speculations on future rx8s will be greatly appreciated

He's as bad as Can
The same if not worse should newer RX-8’s have more power; if mileage is an issue this car is not for you. FYI I get about 20 MPG is 70/30 Hwy / City driving.

Wait till the 2008 because that'll be the year they implement the fusion cell rx8 ... you get basically 50miles per banana peel. Here are pics of the prototype Mr. Fusion unit that I got and one of the Mr. Fusion unit mounted on a Delorean.
Dude, seriously why are SO concerned about mileage. Unless they totally revamp the engine it's not changing. The only thing I can see changing is the ECU flashes but that'll likely be available to all years of RX8's. So why wait?

My first 71' RX2 got 12mpg in town and 18mpg on the hwy and had 100hp. I now get 18 in town and 23 on the hwy and have twice the hp. Things are improving, the engine is so young. Think how much time the piston engine has on it and how many people are working on it! It's New and Exciting!
