Canada has a rich deposit of tar sand. Very rich. It costs about $40 a bbl to produce and takes many years to build the industry. I build trucks for that sort of thing. The biggest trucks in the world, after all there is a lot of sand to carry in & out. For every bbl of oil extracted 98 bbls of sand have to be moved.

Production will begin to ramp up about a year from now. Begin that is. The Chinese have already made some moves to buy about 30% of the tar sand oil. Between the US, Japan another 60% will end up being purchased, leaving about 10% for the Canadian market.

Remember the Alaskan oil from Prudhoe Bay? Did you know that nearly all of it is sold to the shhipping industry, with less then 10% sold to anyone in America? (Including American shipping companies).

We live in a global market. Such is the price for a fine Japanese car like the RX8.

all the gas usage is making me think of what will the scientists do after we almost run out of gas. i dont wanna use any crappy solar energy powered car thats so slow and not fun to drive. unless they make it even better with solar power. or maybe they will save 500000 gallons of gas to find a way to recreate the gas without the dinosaurs reexisting and dying.

I live in PA too and have noticed the incline in prices, just gotta deal with it. Is it just me or do the prices seem creep up on the weekend?
