General Question about RX8's

I have been looking to get this RX8 its down on a decently low price but the only problem is it has high miles on it 103K to be exact now when is the recommended time to change out the engine on one? What other maintinence issues am I looking for on a Rotary other than that of a normal vehicle? What problems do I need to know about the 2004 models?
Thanks
-Cuba

I would not buy an 04 with 103k miles on it unless you can pull a full service history and verify that ALL TSB's have been done on it. then I would get a remanned engine

The only time in which you are recommended to replace an engine is when it goes bad. It isn't something you do as part of preventative maintenance. However, being over 100K miles...you have no warranty...you are on your own.

Unless its a super low price, I might look for one with lower miles, so that you are still under the 100k engine warranty

yeah I would also look for one with lower miles all depends on how cheap you are getting it but I know you can get 04's with like 60k miles or so for around 10,000 and u will still have 40,000 miles worth of engine warranty left on it

Even if you bought at like 80K miles. It will give you a chance to have the car for a while and work out the bugs with your dealer before your warranty is gone.

the asking price on it is 7900 which i don't think is bad but i wanted to do some homework on it. I know that most rotary's go around 60K but i couldn't find anything on the renesis engine maybe because its too new plus over here they have some RX8s in the junk yard and are selling the engines for cheap $500 so i can always keep one on stand by I guess. Is there anything i need to worry about tras. wise i know the RX7's had issues with 5th gear anything like that on an 8?
