General Questions

Hey i'm getting a relatively new (if not brand new) RX-8 in the near future as not only a graduation gift but a birthday present as well. Of all the cars I've test driven (EVO-STI little too powerful for me at this stage and insurance is disgusting) I thought the RX-8 was the most fun, comfortable and the easiest to drive...I was curious as to what downsides it has if any and also some links to the best site where I can begin some slight mods---I know nothing of rotary engines and I think thats why I like the RX-8 as much as I do...sort of..mysterious..anyways some feedback would be great on stuff like Turbos etc..Thanks guys!

If you do a search, you'll find a lot of threads on modifications, turbos, intakes, etc. You can also find a lot on drawbacks, particularly poor gas mileage and not enough horsepower and low-end torque (for some; I'm fine with both). Also, search on "flash" and "TSB" to find information; then, make sure the used car you buy is up to date.

Careful, if you say you are getting an 8 for a sweet sixteen party some of the troll may kill you!

If the car is used check it out - something may have gone wrong with it. People tend to cling to their 8s. Make sure you have a good warrenty and good comprehensive insurance. Will your Dad be driving it much? If its just an 05 that's been sitting around - no sweat! Check to make sure dealer has done all the updates if its an 04. Watch oil - gauge only shows pressure not contents and this engine is hot!
Go to a rally or two,
