General RX8 chat
I have had my 8 for 3 1/2 months now and every time i wake up and see that car it puts a smile on my face. I dont know why so many people bash the horsepower, when I pull out in the road and stomp on the gas it feels to me like it has plenty of power. I know that everyone has there own opinion about what is quick and what is not, but if you ask me I would say that the RX8 has plenty of power to play with, yes it COULD use more, but I bet if you ask 350Z owners they would say they want more power, 2003 cobra owners, want more power. 238 horsepower is not bad by any means, especially in a car as light as the RX8.

I agree. If you want more power, then there will be plenty of mods in the near future. Looks compared to power compared to performance with this car over exceeds all the rest and it is cheaper too!

this has been talked about before it jsut bothers me when people complain about the horsepower, everytime i get on my car it just amazes me, maybe because it has about 40 more HP than my old car.

one more fact
I just saw on car and driver tv today about the BMW Z4, it is well over 40k and only has 220 HP, so really 238 for under (in my case) 30k, its pretty reasonable. Like I said before, everybody has their own opinion and im just stating mine. I love every single detail about my car. No regrets whatsoever.

Hey I am happy with it too. In fact I love it, never had more fun and excitement out of a car... All those issues that people raise about do not bother me at all. I know what my rx8 is capable of. Even if somebody outaccelerates me I just wait till I get into the first corner and I am up front again... and the way it looks...

HP by it self is a partial measure. Weight to HP and handling together tell much better what's the performance of a car.
Take the new Lotus Elise (European version), with only 120 HP you get 0-60 mph in 5.7 sec. Total weight of 1635 lbs yields 13.6 lbs to hp
