Well asking if the rx8 is a good, reliable car on a all rx8 forum is pretty stupid but whatever, i want to look into things before I go and buy a 20,000 car. I have always loved the way rx8's look and now that I have a chance to get one I am really thinking about it but I have been reading a lot and are they even reliable? I mean with recalls and people having to replace there motors with not much miles at all, I want a car that I can trust and use as a everyday driver but still have a blast driving it. Dont get me wrong just about every car has some sort of flaw but if I were to get a 8 will I regret it in the long run? Honestly do you guys like your RX8's and do you regret buying it?

yeah I know this kind of question has been asked many times but theres so much to look threw I thought I could get some opinions from some of you.

You might draw a few opinions in this thread, but there are hundreds (maybe thousands) of previous posts with opinions and information on the topic. You're leaving a lot on the table if you don't spend a while browsing through the archives.

I regret buying my RX-8. I hate it. I hate myself for buying it. For punishment, I'm going to make myself drive it every day for the next 10 years. Maybe longer.

I wasent expecting everyone to be like I love my car, buy one, I just wanted to know what people thought of it. Thanks for being dicks. I will now use the search button and try to find some informative threads.

 

Let me disect this post in detail. There is much we can learn. Here, he is appealing to his cute, wide-eyed newbieism. Note the plaintive tone. Here, he is suggesting that he is an intellegent creature, capaple of rational desision making through research. Hey, we all love RX8s! Who doesn't? But here comes the true evil intention of his post...
So now he is suggesting that he has done all this reseach and he has preconcluded that the RX8 is unreliable. How does one suggest that they are interested in a car, ask for help in research, then suggest they have done the research and concluded that it is a POS? Can we conclude anything but that the OP is nothing but two legs with a mound of jello on top? Really? Where are all these recalls? Where are all these replaced motors? Well, if I follow your logic, it can't be the RX. So why are you posting? If you would have spent some actual time reading, you would already know.

 

thanks for making me look like an idiot, I know your defending you car and all. I understand, I am just looking for a new car and want to hear peoples opinons on different cars. If your going to just come back with a smartass remark w/e but I dont want to fight over the internet. I just want to buy a nice sports car but dont want to make the wrong decision.

When you first were looking for a car what did you do? Just go out and buy it or did you want some reviews on it and some poeples opinons. I know im a noob and thats why im here to get info. I know I should of searched more before I posted but I wanted to see what people had to say while I was looking around.

well..i jsut got my rx-8 this past thursday...and i love it. I personally think its extremely fun to drive. Alot of people dont like it because the rotary engine isnt that popular, but for some reason thats what makes me love the rotary. My dad grew up with an rx-7, so i guess the rotary kinda ran from me to him. Although i havent had the car for very long, i say its great. Its also a really good chick magnet if you ask me haha...the girls at my work are loving it.

 

yeah I guess I did it just pisses me off how I just wanted some info on this car and instead of people being like "I like it alot but i had this happened" or Its a nice car and I havent had problems at all" you guys were streight up like **** you use the search button and werent much help at all.
