I hate when people do shady things like this. Ruins the experience for the next owner and I hope karma shows you the way.

And when he says 'poor' he doesn't mean a lack of money, he means that he has to go to school and has no time for himself.

Yes, I do think as such. I'm the type that does research to the very last detail before buying anything. If I have to I'll even find the person who last owned it (old couple) through the car's registration history.

Also, a test drive gives everything away. Car was in perfectly brand new condition except for a broken vibra mount holding the intake ($6 fix).

So suck it up. I got a good deal, you didn't. Boohoo.

Precisely. Someone gets it. I can't be out of a car for days or weeks while the engine is being swapped.

He also says "All the recalls have been done on it. I am also very **** when it comes to maintenance, so you can be sure that the car has been treated with the best of the best. I don't skimp on maintenance, period. Mechanically, the car is flawless."

What a nice guy . Sorry if the threads to old, but 6 days shouldnt be an issue.
Which is true. I do maintenance to the T. I flog the crap out of it when I go to the track (and it's seen A LOT of track time ever since it left the lot), but when I get back I start swapping everything out.

I'd sell her together with your mom for business.

Only a fool mixes personal feelings with business. And not small business. Big business. Faceless corporations. The darker side of the corporate world where they sell out entire countries for business. You know the drill.

That's the kind of business I'll be doing soon.

Nah, it's not really anybody 'boohooing' about a deal, it's about you screwing somebody over for your own personal gain. Sure, you're protecting yourself/man eat man world/etc, but seriously? Even trying to dupe the forum people with your for sale thread.

Doing this sort of thing with something small isn't too horrible. But when you start to get into over ten thousand dollar purchases...you really need to have some self decency to at least attempt to fix your own childish actions before ******* someone else over.

*edit* reading my post, I sound angry. No anger or hate here, just bewilderment if anything.

So you expect me to rebuild the trans and engine before trading the car in? Are you nuts?

Why do you think I chose to trade it in, when I had a buyer interested with $15,000 ready to leave his hands?

I am trolling you guys.

You can justify you talking about doing that stuff however you want. Regardless I would think the main problem people have is that you were asking for a price that was indicative of a well maintained car with nothing wrong it rather than selling it for cheaper because there were things wrong with it.

Didn't think someone would catch small yellow text on a white background.

The car's fine. I mean, if anyone's been following the thread, you'd realize I never answered the question about how I knew the engine was failing.

Besides, on my 4 hour test drive of the MS6, the dealership was busy inspecting the car, and they found it to be mechanically alright (they mentioned the 2nd gear felt a bit notchy, which is really the weak synchro every RX-8 has).

But I chose to trade the car in because of the amount of track time the car's seen. I got the car knowing the amount of track time it's seen, but I knew the guy and he takes care of his cars really well. I carried on that tradition, albeit with a bit of a learning curve because I knew NOTHING about cars when I got it.

The suspension was creaking, and there were rattles here and there. Aside from that, there weren't any major issues. Just wasn't fair to sell it to you at $15,000. Dealership only gave me $12,000 for it, and I accepted.

Think about the logic of my actions for a sec. I posted a FS thread, then two days later traded it in for a lot less money. Either I'm a retard, or I decided against selling it.

This thread is a last hurrah for me. Thanks for participating.
