a good deed
As some of you may already know, I'm a police officer here in Houston. Been out here for 2 years so I'm still learning.
So, I'm on patrol and I get dispatched to an illegal parking complaint. When I arrive I'm met by an 80 year old female who is upset because 3 vehicles are parked blocking her driveway and a corner fire hydrant. Needless to say she wants them removed.
Well I look over at the 3 vehicles and what to I see? A Honda accord, a BMW and A blue rx8!!
So out of respect to all fellow rx8 owners, I towed the Honda and the BMW and had a wrecker driver move the 8 across the street.
So if you are the owner of the blue 8 that was parked at 300 mcgowen in midtown Houston, on saturday night, remember who hooked you up. Btw all the wrecker drivers here know not to touch the 8s and they never will as long as I'm working!!

I'd love to meet you, and talk about some past experiences You're definitely the only police officer that has shown partiality to blue RX-8's, at least in my experience. [save for the one MoCo Hwy Patrolman that let me off after having a College License plate frame, cause I removed it for him on the spot] When they say "you can't block any part of "TEXAS,"" - they really mean it. We're talking a fraction of the top of the letters LOL.
I'm always getting pulled over for stuff I can prove did not occur or is not true (example being I have a front license plate and always get pulled over for "no front license plate" though it's clearly still bolted to the bumper in plain sight) because a WB RX-8 is a ticket target. Another being "lasered" for 79mph on I-10, from 112 feet. That was easily proven wrong with physics (88fps @ 60mph, which is what I had the cruise control set to at the time) when I had time to laugh at the honda accord in the far left lane that I thought was about to get busted...when the officer pulled me over and tried to give me the ticket for the number on the gun corresponding to the accord...
Either way, as long as I don't do anything wrong, it's pretty easy to prove innocence, at least so far.
HPD? MoCo Hwy Patrol? SSPD? MVPD? ROPO?

We have an officer here in the Tampa Bay area (police34) that owns a TIGray 8 in our Florida RX8 Club http://www.flrx8club.net and would find this funny

It's not just HPD [Memorial Villages have been a pain, but I guess I'm glad they're overzealous as opposed to being the opposite because they protect my family and I], and like I said they're not problems when I can prove them wrong.
If I deserve a ticket I will gladly pay it [I believe that for the most part taking responsibility for one's actions is the best course of action], but I will definitely drop you a line if I'm made to jump through any unnecessary hoops to prove my innocence like usual.

Since there were a few cars blocking the driveway, my guess is the owner probably was too drunk to realize that their car was on a different side of the street from when they left it.
