A great experience with my Service!

Usually when someone writes about the service work at a Mazda dealer it is more times than not a bad report. So I thought it to be my duty to report on a great experience for a change. And since they have been so good I'm going to give them a plug:

Moss-Robertson in Gainesville, Georgia

I will have to back up to my first experience with the service department and the dealer to show the pattern of their intent to be a good service minded company.

1. After making my deal to purchase my car for the best price I could get, I noticed a $750 credit to my price due to being a repeat customer for buying a RX8. (Not going into that story) I had no clue they were going to do this.

2. After taking my baby home I noticed my brake rotors and two of my shields behind the rotors were a little corroded so I took it back to the service department and they replaced 2 rotors and shields. This required an over night stay for my car so they gave me a rental car. When I went to pick it up, they informed me that there was another part that needed replacing so they went ahead and ordered it and made an appointment for me to come back.

3. I came back for the additional work to which they gave me another rental car. When I went to pick my 8 up this time, a rep from MAZDA had been there and looked over my car. They suggested to me that when I brought it in for my 7,500 service that they could paint my brake rotors if I liked. Hummm, let me think about that... Yea, great idea! The rep left an awesome RX-8 coffee table book in the front passenger seat with an apology for any inconvenience I may have had.

4. Today I picked up my baby from its 7,500-mile physical and my rotors are painted, no scratches anywhere, no broken dash components, and no circles from coffee mugs. Nothing but what they were supposed to do. I told them that I wanted to change my own oil every 3,000 miles and that I would like to have 2 oil filters so I could change out with original Mazda parts. I noticed on my invoice for service that the line for the two oil filters said "C/S WANTS 2 EXTRA OIL FILTERS-LEAVE IN CAR, NO LABOR CHARGE... $0.00"...... WTF!

Now, I need a little help interpreting this one. I requested the latest flash and here is what is on my invoice. I picked it up right at closing and no one could tell me what it meant. The tech wasn't there:

C/S CHECK FOR PCM UPDATES
CAUSE: WAS SW-N3K7E0000 UPDATED TO SW-N3K7ED000
F0010XFX POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE - REFLASHING
77 WM4 0.30

The one thing that seemed different was my shifting from neutral to 1st gear. The acceleration seemed to be more fluid. Not as jumpy at the start. I guess that it could be my imagination after driving another car for a day?

If anyone wants more info on this place, I’ll be happy to give it to you.

Any way, what a breath of fresh air! :D

I think it's a good idea to list positive experiences. I was starting to get a little worried with all the horror stories i've read on here!

Funny, I thought I would get more responses. Guess bad news is always more interesting. Maybe I should change the thread name to something like... "Service Dept F*#%ed up my reasons for being pissed off!" I bet that would draw more attention. :D
