Good God Dad

Let me dad drive my car for the first time...instead of backing out of the parking space....he pulls forward and high centers the car on the curb. Now there is a clicking noise coming from the front left tire that sounds like one of the baseball cards you used to stick in the wheel of your bike....any idea of what it could be??
i looked under the car and nothing is broken or loose?

Could be a piece of that plastic stuff on the undercarriage that got torn lose. Or something much worse.

Take it to a dealership. Bring your dad along, and tell him to bring his checkbook.

But how in the hell did he take off in first thinking it was in reverse??? It's not like it's one of those cars with reverse on the left side...

And I thought my dad was bad when he drove my 8; he's been driving MT all his life and yet he twice tried to take off from a dead stop in FOURTH gear...maybe age is catching up to him.

I would be looking at the plastic tray pieces under the car. Also look in the wheel well and see where Dad stuck that playing card.

no direct impact to the wheel. As such, there is most likely no suspension damage. Good news.

Probably a piece of plastic or something that is hitting your wheel. Wheel liner maybe? Whatever it is, you should find it....too much friction can melt the material rubbing against your wheel.

Agreed. Even my wife isn't allowed to drive my 8.

This way, we can stay married.

My wife only drove mine once. She bogged it down and the neighborhood kids started a sing-song chant of "someone can't drive a stick." She never asked to drive it again.
