A good RX8 Mechanic in / near Toronto?
Having problems getting my 2004 (manual transmission) going - And after spending a few hours - without doing a compression test - the fine folks at Scarboro Mazda (sarcasm) are apparently too busy to work on the problem for a few weeks unless I agree to replace the engine! Enough said. So I need an alternative? Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance...

check out marco jorge
I think he'll even do the comp test for a reasonable price
there is also mazdees south of scarborough though when I called them and explained my problem they said my car's troubles could be because I was running catless, which would have messed with the open loop/closed loop fuel trims - the problem ended up being a fuel pump and I couldn't get my head around how restricting the engine would have made it run better so fair bit of warning there.

So an update - worth reading.
Towed it to Mazda of Toronto who did the compression test ($135 - 1 hour - where as Scarboro Mazda wanted 3 hours labour) They said no compression - engine shot. Quoted replacement at 6,000. (~Same as scarboro )
Meanwhile had talked to my usual mechanic who told me that he had once coaxed an RX7 to start by shooting some dextrol into the engine.
The "expert" at Mazda of Toronto essentially said - "go ahead - your engine is shot. won't hurt - won't work"
Guess what - towed the car to RiCo Alignment on Danforth Road - my usual mechanic - at noon, and by 2:30 he'd got to it, shot some dextrol in, fired it up a few times, topped off the oil and called me to say "come and get it". Sadly, the first tow to Scarboro Mazda drove the car right by RiCo - so my bad / my dumb. Net, Dextrol !! More details when I have the specifics.
