Goodbye to my 04 RX8
Well, I am sorry to say it but I just traded in my 2004 Mazda RX8 GT 6MT. I loved the car, but I have a serious medical condition regarding both of my shoulders and I cant operate a manual transmission car anymore.
I just want to say thanks to everyone who I has helped me out with my 8 the past 3 1/2 years. It has been a while since I was a regular poster on here, but I obtained a lot of good knowledge about my 8.
My new car = 2006 Acura TL, voice activated navi, bluetooth, memory / heated power seats, etc. I was worried that the TL wouldnt have the same performance, but the 270 hp V-TEC V6 really pins me to the back of my seat, something that the RX8 never did. The only downside of the TL vs the RX8 is the handling. It handles well for a sedan, but is obviously nowhere near the same league as the 8.
Pics of my new car attached (I didn't take these pics, and they are of a diff TL which is exactly the same in every way to mine. The dealer pics I have of mine suck....terrible resolution):

Good luck. Sorry to see a regular poster go, hopefully you'll hang around still. Get a good deal on the TL?

I got a very good deal on the TL, fully certified with <50K for $20k. I didn't get a good deal on the trade in, but it was better than what was offered before.
Before I went to the dealership I purchased the TL from, I went to 2 dealerships (one of them carmax) who only offered me $4000(!!!!) the reason they gave was that due to it being the offseason, they didn't even want to give me the trade in value, which is around $7000. That really pissed me off.
I went to this dealership and they offered me $6000. While it still is a little under the value, I was getting such a good deal on the TL that I was ok with it.
NOTE TO ANYONE TRYING TO TRADE THE 8 IN: Expect to get screwed. I understand that there are some dealerships out there that won't give you crap for a trade in, but the fact that CarMax, the largest used car store in the country, would only give me $4000 for the 8 is ridiculous. Don't trade an 8 in in the winter, wait for the summer. Also, don't buy anything from CarMax. If they are going to treat potential customers like that and trying to screw them over, they are definitely not a company that I respect.

I didn't get an auto 8 because the great thing about the rotary is the 9k redline.....it is a lot of fun reving to redline. The auto redlines at 7,500 which isn't nearly as fun, and the loss of 20 hp isn't what I'm looking for either.
I also am one of those people that could never get an auto sports car, regardless of the model. To me, I feel the reason to get a sports car is to connect to the road, to have complete control over the vehicle. I never got that feeling with an automatic.....you really aren't in control of the engine.
If I am going automatic, sports sedan is the way to go for me. A ton of luxury with a great performing engine and Honda quality. This is by far the nicest most luxurious vehicle I have ever had. The navi is awesome, the bluetooth is sweet, and the voice control is unbelievable...I press a button and speak a command, and it literally powers EVERYTHING in my car (navi, radio, climate control, memory seats, etc).

The fact that it was something that I could afford is also shocking to me....I thought I would have to spend $50,000 on a BMW or Mercedes for this many options. I highly recommend this vehicle if you are looking for a luxury sport sedan, but be sure to get one with navigation......for the extra $2k, definitely worth it.
