Goodbye for now !
Well I am sad to say I sold my 8 today....I've been around this forum since day 1, and I will lurk around from time to time.......it was time to move one, I had the 8 for close to 3 years (warranty up in 2weeks ), so I wanted to exit before hand...my other vehicle is not here yet so looks like I am borrowing a car for 7weeks?!
I will miss her !....and a part of me won't?....but the car sure brought a smile on my face every time it touched 9000rpm...which was a lot !

funny... I have an S60R.. with mods... pushing about as much..maybe a bit more than a 335....very similar type of a car.... and I'm thinking of dumping my 4 door "super" sports sedan to get an 8....
we're going in the opposite directions... car wise...

335 is a nice replacement, but so far i hear the RX8 is more responsive than the 335. my brother was about to get it because i put it in his head, and at the end he decided to wait until the end of the year and get the M3. let me suggest the titanium gray, coupe with the red interior. best combination ever.

Miss ya.....
We'll miss you around here - you were one of the pioneers.
I only met you once, but I remember thinking at the time, you seemed more of a "BMW 3 series owner"......

lol...yes I'll take it as a compliment ! I am still going to lurk around, and maybe one day step back in to an 8 down the road if they ever produce a mazdaspeed version ( a real one!)
On a side note, I just talked to the sales person at BMW and the 335i can also come in all wheel drive for the Sedan...I was sure she was mistaken as every bit of info I have read has said otherwise? But she mentioned they are still in production and can be ordered but not on the website yet? If I do get the Sedan I might look at that option? I guess I have some thinking to do before I meet her this weekend......car and driver published an article when the car came out stating all wheel drive is a ways off for the 335? guess they were wrong.....would be handy in our winter....and performance wise should have nill difference?
it was an extra $2500CAN

There are two cars that I feel I can drive on a challenging road with virtually no learning curve, the RX-8 and the current 3-Series. I feel wired into both of them right away.
But the RX-8 is more agile, and has the seating position of a sports car. The 3-Series is excellent, but you're definitely driving a heavier sedan. Even the coupe feels like a sedan, so I'd personally get the sedan.
In my experience, BMW dealers rarely have a clue about when new products will be showing up. Though they usually say they're much further away than they actually are, not the other way around.
No doubt there's plenty of talk about when the 335xi will arrive on any BMW forum. When it does arrive, AWD should be available on the coupe as well as the sedan. At least this is the case with the 328.

Very nice car but you may want to look into an issue I've heard about. According to a coworker who is big into BMWs the BMW web sites are posting a lot of problems with these cars over heating. This is the first turbo BMW has put out since the 2002 I believe.
This is second hand info but this guy is pretty knowledgeable with BMWs.
Good luck either way.

Just drove my friends 335i 6spd coupe. It was a very nice ride. Very quick (low 5s), typical BMW handling and feedback, great balance. The lag was virtually non-existent and the turbo's spool up fast and smooth.
As a former E46 330Ci owner and huge BMW fan, I have to say that the new E92 leaves me cold aesthetically. It is very bland and lacks character. The E46 coupe and M3 is one of the most perfect designs ever IMHO, so bettering that was always going to be hard. But the 335i is certainly a better driving car for sure.
Also drove the 6spd Mcoupe. Very nice car. If it wasn't for the release of the Cayman, this would have probably won all the awards in that category. Fast, handles well, great balance, raw and powerful, and I like the design.
Unfortunately for BMW, they released it at roughly the same time as when Porsche decides to release the best car it has ever designed barring the CGT. Close but no cigar.

well I did it today....chose the Sedan with the sport and Premuim package.....black on black
Really thought about the Coupe, but went with the practical choice....have to wait 2mths though
Had to take another test drive though and man do I love the power delivery ! with tinted windows she'll look good :}
