dammit
not even two weeks ago, I got a ticket for not having the front license plate.

My court date was set for beginning of August, and it was a fix-it ticket that I didn't worry so much about.

Today, I just got pulled over in downtown LA for the same ticket....wow....

I really meant to put it back on sooner, but really I didn't know I could get another ticket for not having the front license plate. Also been really busy with work and all..

Looks like I really gotta put it back on before I go to work tomorrow...
I'm getting pretty tired of being bugged by the cops.

All you had to do was show the cop your old fix it ticket for it and you wouldnt have gotten another since you have until August to fix it.

 

thats pretty rough...i'd just toss the bracket and front plate back on to avoid future hassle.

 

it takes all of 2 minutes to screw that plate back on there lol

I would have thought that by having one ticket for it you would not have gotten a second ticket due to the fact that the court date has not been reached.

Surely the second ticket will be thrown out after you take care of the first one???

Anyway I'm glad we only have to have the rear plate in Georgia.

 

I must say, iowa is usually pretty good about this. I have been pulled over quite a few times for no front plate but its almost always aroudn the time that the bars let out. I have been told that Its just being used as an excuse to pull me over to check for an OWI. However, usually the cops just start asking about my car and we end up talking for awhile popping the hood and then sending me on my way with a warning. I even had a cop apologise for "pulling my clean car onto the gravel shoulder" Cant wait to pop the hood and have a giant turbo chillin there :-)

 

We have to have the front tag in Jersey, too, but you can at least have fun with it and get a cool personalized tag... mine says HOTT8

 

I had mine zip tied to the front screen on the R magic front end. Caused the motor to overheat and looked horrible. I will pay a $65 ticket a couple times a year not to have my front plate.

 

front plate blows.......I'm lucky I've past 5 cops with my front bumper first and havent been pulled over.....I guess they are busy looking at the rest of the car

 

Put the plate on to be safe...i'm just glad to not haveone

 

I wear mine, hate it. But I can't give the cops an excuse to harass me anytime I want to drive somewhere at night. And don't even try putting it up in the window, that pisses them off more.

 

I just got a ticket for this. Really lame and stupid when you think about it (not putting the plate on). I'm just going to put it on and take it off for meets/photo ops.

Mine does not even have the holes so It would take me longer than 2 minutes.
Also do not have the bracket so it would take me longer to find/ buy one

Are you sure you are not mistaking those 2 minutes with the time it takes YOU to have sex?

 

I hear that the main reason they wnat them on is for radar purposes. They shoot the gun at the plate. Gives them a nice flat reflective surface to get a reading off of.

 

I've not gotten a ticket yet, but I just throw it up in my front window.

 

I know a couple people that rubber band it to the bottom of the passange visor. Flip down the visor and the plate shows through the windshield. However, its still not legel. I believe the law states it can only be so high off the ground... atleast here in IA

 

****! that reminds me..I gotta put the freaken plate on to take care of the ticket I got few weeks ago by the LAX area.

 

Im down in Orange County. I got a ticket for no front plate when i got pulled over for my tinted taillights too. The cop is a total ******* though, our area calls him the tuner devil, haha.

But yeah, i took mine off after I went to court and haven't had anything happen since.

wow all these stores makes me glad i'm not anywhere where I need a front plate..but i'd prob just try the dash or sunvisor thing for a while haha!

 

Yeah the plate issue stinks. There is not a way to mount that bracket without screwing up the cool look of the front. That was the first thing I took off of my car when I bought it! I had a couple of warnings and then had a CHP got me while speeding (imagine that). He was just so nasty too. Thank God for Traffic school.

 

I did a relocate just below the oil cooler. Looks better than the bugs bunny tooth.

 

just zip tie it and get it fixed. then take it back off!
