Got beat by an 8 yesterday

Puts a sprayed RX8 at about 101-102mph? I can't verify this up because nobody knows. Maybe will never know.

Here's one of those boats going toe to toe with the T2 National Champion WRX STI "on a real track". What else you got, fool?

I got beat by the new Civic Si.... and I'm still lovin' mah car! The only reason it won was because it was using one of those engines that had something (can't remember what) called a pissssston? I don't know.... something about that and VeeeTaaack. O well.

Charles here (see nitrous threads) ran a 12.8 I believe with a 55 shot, not sure what the trap was. I believe he had other supporting mods too.

It's going to eat you up inside, little man.
Glad you watched the video. Youre actually smarter than you were 10 minutes ago... although that's relative.

I haven't been to an actual dragstrip to record my times but the G-Tech, when properly used, is said to actually read .1s slower than the real thing (but otherwise be amazingly accurate). With that, I have recorded several runs in the area of 13.30s/108+ mph on stock tires. I tend not to trust the mph nor h.p. readings as much as the e.t. but those numbers were fitting in well with what I knew other cars were said to run in the 1/4.

Get to bed Mary, you have to take the kids to school tomorrow in your big *** hooptie!

I respect the work that Charles does, and I follow his threads... here's all I could find
12.8 doesn't quite add up. He recorded 108mph on a G-Tech (Im not a G-Tech hater, btw) but honestly, I wish he had a slip from the track. Maybe there's a certain numb nut (*cough* jones75254 *cough*) that could do us a favor and go get one.

I dont think anyone here cares if a mustang, GTO, or whatever other car your driving is faster. I didn't buy my car because it was the fastest car on the road. Ive driven tons of cars, including new mustang, a fox body, the new GTO, STI, Evo, SRT4, corvettes, Z06 and many others. I could have afforded any of these cars, but i wasn't buying a car to be the fastest on the block. I was looking to buy a car that i loved, as far as performance, looks, and functionality. Sure, I could have afforded a faster car. Heck,if i sold my other cars I could buy a used GT3. But like I said, I wasn't looking to buy the fastest car on the block.
I'm not saying I don't enjoy speed, I definitely do. I modify my 8 and am always looking for ways to get more power. I have owned much faster cars than the 8, and sure they were fun. But the 8 is the perfect car for me - fun to drive, good looks, 4 seats, and still allows me to afford to keep my other toys/vehicles.

Guys......HE knows our cars are slow and WE also know our cars are slow(in todays world of 13 sec sports cars from the factory). If you go back and read his FIRST post you can see there was a lot of sarcasim in it....it should have been taken with a grain of salt.
Secondly I personally own a GTech meter and have brought it with me to the track several times. If it's set up right then the times WILL be dead nuts on.....it's almost scary. The ONLY thing that's NOT correct is the MPH which is taken by the GTech at the end of the quarter mile. At the track they take an average of the MPH through the last 60 FEET. So when you see your MPH on your time slip it is really a few MPH SLOWER than what you were really going when you crossed the line.

technically... no. only cause he hasnt specified where the race took place... he could mean his friend pulled up and wanted to race... at the drag strip... even though we can only assume that's not the case. Anyways, Ajax posted earlier and he's a mod, so it must be alright for now.
