Got a bulge in my tire sidewall, need opinions
Here's the nice little bump in the sidewall of my Dunlop 8090s. I originally had a flat in this tire, and it was repaired by patching. Recently, I was checking my tire pressure and noticed this bump on the sidewall. Proper googling has resulted in advice to replace it immediately as it could blow out at any time. I'd like to know some opinions from you guys.
My personal opinion is to go and get it replaced ASAP, I do not like how that bulge looks.

Sidewall steel wire is broken. don't drive it fast and replace it asap.
I had this on my 4 weeks old Mazda6 back in 2003 and checked the warranty it's not covered.
Also had it on my dad's 2003 TL-S when hit a log on hwy running 60mph and I survived. :p
Also on my 1997 CRV when I hit the curb turning into parking lot by accident.
Tire purchased from Costco WILL cover this as warranty. It's road hazard warranty. That's also why I only buy tires from Costco now.

However, I will assume that's where the damage to the sidewall occured too.

*edit* Costco does not have the Dunlops. I'll check them out for the Pilot Sport A/S when I need to replace the other 3.

Replace the tire...Tires are the only thing between the concrete and your ***...need you even ask ? Never skimp with cheap tires...cheap food, cheap clothes, cheap car...NEVER cheap tires.

It's a Cavalier
I don't know if anybody else does this, but I usually go to Discount Tire, have them order the tires directly from TireRack. It takes a couple of days, but I get the good price and it's not a hassle. Then I have Discount mount and balance, and I get the cheap road hazard on them.
Been doing that for years. It's worked out well.

Yeah, but the Dunlop warranty specifically doesn't cover road hazard. It's quite annoying. I'll just be replacing this single tire with the same type since my other 3 only have 1000 miles on them. After they wear out, I'll get a spare and sets of better (non-runflat) tires.

Any decent tire shop will match the TireRack price, just print it out. Sorry to hear about your tire. I had some bad luck with tires on my last car.
Watch out for curb rash on your rims. I have a couple small spots on my rims. Grrr.

Curiously, when I bought my car, (either I didn't see it then or it happened not long after driving for a bit) I noticed a large bulge in the side-wall as well. This was on the LFT Rear tire. It was fairly large so I don't see how I missed it. Since the tires already exhibited some dry rot (must have been sitting for a while) I just bought 4 new tires. But that bulge did spook me for a bit, considering I was driving 85-90 on the highway coming back home.

I was in the Forest hills area of NY, and was driving through a local street. I'm not that familiar with the area that I would know all the potholes. I was going up a short crest, and swerved around to miss an enormous pothole. Little did I know that on the return to my lane past the crest, there was an even larger pothole.
Long story short, I pulled over immediately after that, spotted for damage, found none, drove on with an intent to never return

Thanks, I'll do that if my guy doesn't cut me a discount. He should though, I was referred by a friend.
I'm going to leave these rims to be spare/winter after this year. I'll get a nice set of Enkeis once I get my bonus.

I know it's hard to avoid. I also got used to drive with my big fat SUV tires on the road and doesn't care about the hole on the road. But now I have to keep remind myself not to hit it.
