Got this e-mail from Mazda.
Nothing particularly new but cool nonetheless.. *cross finger* for a rotary mention.

Should be interesting, but the only thing I'm interested in hearing about about at this point is the if/when for the new rotary car. If this SkyActive stuff is not tied to the rotary in any way, then I could care less. I'll try to check in on this at work tomorrow and see what kind of beans they spill.

I am going on Saturday with my Energy Sustainability and SAE club from my college. Free show and it seems like this year's show is much more worth while than last year's. I didn't even bother going last year.

Yea, cuz he was hungry. LOL
Hmm something is not right, 10% increased in Horsepower ? I hope they're talking about their "current" 2.0 engine because I know my Mazda3 2.5 have 167 hp compare to their 2.0 Skyactiv 155 figure.
but the MPG has been increased significantly, 28 in city (compare to 20, real life is about 16-18) and 40 mpg (real life is about 30 for me)

nothing new announced, but the commercial they tagged onto the end did show a couple shots of internal rotary engines and the rx8 at the end... here's to hoping the rotary stays part of their line up

the compression is 13 or 12:1 (declared for JDM and EU 14:1) and not mentioned i-stop .
the US spec engine is slightly different from JDM or EU engine IMHO.
Cx-5 next spring (worldwide) and diesel to US in 2013 (if i've understood correctly)

Yeah about the biggest thing I got out of that was their diesel is finally coming to the US.. 2 years from now.

but yes they have to lower the compression because compared to Euro/Japan our gas SUCK *** plus those GARBAGE Ethanol makes it worst/unstable.
CX-5 coming this spring as 2012 model (Mazda 5 2012 is already out) with Sky-G. Next spring Sky-D will be out.
