Got to give up the 8 for recall work

I have been one of the lucky ones with no floods, no CELs, no problems at all. :D I almost hate to let them mess with it.
So one more time - what does the new flash do?

I believe it basically cuts the revs if you for some insane reason decide to sit at idle and hold the engine at high revs for minutes at a time...

Good info. Thanks. Sounds pretty harmless. I guess I'll let them have their way with my baby.

I dropped my 8 off today for the thermal blanket recall. They did the inspection of the front control arms, and put the blanket around the fuel tank.
They didn't reflash the ECU, It stayed at N level (very happy with N).
Should I get them to do the flash as stated in the recall?
or just stay with the N flash?

Had my recall items done last week. Added the insulator, didn't have to change out my ball joints, and also had them replace the front brake pads (TSB) and fix my "snapping" noise at low speeds (TSB, which actually fixed the problem!).
Happy that my car is "complete" once again. Everything seems tight as before. I'm getting her re-acquainted with high revs :D
So since I've got a 2004, what are we calling the flash?? Is it "R"-flash? I had M-flash prior to the recall service.
