gotta love it
Loading up the roomy trunk of my 8 today after doing a Costco run, and a couple walks over and asks if they can "look at my car". "Of course", I say, and proceed to show it off. They're previous owners of an RX-7, and loved the 8. And I just loved showing it off!

Had an interesting experience along these lines recently. Pulled up to park my 8 at Nazareth Speedway in August and before I could open my door, there was a woman standing next to the car anxiously waiting for me to exit. She said that she had a 350Z, but that she had so many problems with it--you know front end, tires, etc.--that it now was a garage queen and she was seriously considering getting rid of it for an 8. Smart lady methinks.
Of course, I gave her the grand tour of the car and a short briefing on why she would not be dissapointed if she went for an 8. I suspect she is driving an 8 by now.

My roommate dropped his car (VW) at his dealer this morning for some service. I pulled up outside the service dept. door in my RX-8 to wait for him.
While they were writing him up two VW mechanics walked over and stared through the window at my car. One of them gave it a thumbs up and the other mouthed "Sweeeet".
I hope they don't get yelled at for drooling all over the window when they were meant to be working! :D

I don't get it!! I don't see any gals wanting a ride or even want to talk about it. Only had one man ask about it at the gas station. I thought the car being gal bait was a dealer sales talk. I guess time will tell then.

I was filling up yesterday , right when I started to pull out there was a blue 350z , so I drove around to look at it and the guy was checking out mine . I agree with the young ladies , I went for lunch today , went through the drive up . The young lady was checking out my car . When she handed the food , so told me "nice car" what is it? And it is amazing how many people had a RX-7 in the 80's LOL

HAHA the other day a trucker pulls over by me and whistles. the only way to see him was throught he moonroof (these guys sit very high) the dialogue:
He says nothing just blinks
"you like it?"
"I love it" he quotes
"1.3 litres only, no turbo"
"whaaa"
"ask someone that knows and he'll explain it to you"
light turns green, I nail it, I'm gone

Cool, seems like most RX-7 owners (ALWAYS 3rd Gen.) I encounter arn't as keen on the styling of the 8 and think it doesn't fit in with the heritage of the RX Series. I think this Las Vegas sun is getting to them...
