Gotta love K&N
I thought i would share this with everyone. I have a typhoon intake series 1. My filter started going bad so i called K&N to get a replacement sent. The nice lady told me to take a picture of the filter and email it. I did so and got a call back. She told me they did not make that model filter anymore....
She then told me since i have an outdated filter they are going to send me an entire 69 series typhoon intake system for FREE!
i believe they are priced around 299.99 or something. I was and still am amazed by this.

Not to burst your bubble or anything. I mean getting a free product is kick azz!
But the K&N Typhoon intake is a short ram intake. Which means you will be sucking up hot air. I used to have this intake and while I never had any issues, the air that was going into my intake was 30 to 40 degrees hotter than AMB. Verified by my Accessport.
Like I said, not trying to be a kill joy or anything, but you may lose performance with this intake....

I love my K&Nv2 intake. I mean after all hot air is hot air. Dont matter if its coming from under the hood or out side the car. Summer is summer anyway you look at it. Have fun and enjoy it! also remove your VFad

uh... your radiator is going to push out 180-200 F air into the engine bay.

Ive gotten free K&Ns for my Talon when the foam gasket stuff started separating from the base, K&N is very good on customer service, besides a $50retail filter prob costs them a few bucks in material and labor.

Looks like youll be getting this one below instead of the 1st gen with big oval filter, looks like this new ones heat shield is sealded up better around the intake tube than your old style.

However what a cold air intake will do is give your engine the coolest air possible (or closest to ambient). So yes if it is 117 degrees outside a cold air intake will be sucking up hot air (maybe 10 to 15 degrees higher than ambient). But a short ram intake will be sucking up 150 to 160 degree air since it is located in the engine bay where it is already hotter than any temp outside!
Try not to be such a azz next time. mysql is no n00b either,

True (not to mention LOUD), but OP could add a Racing Beat Duct to channel outside air [when moving].
Free is good!!
