Great Mileage
Just came back from Vermont to Massachusetts, 237 miles and got 27.81MPG. All highway at speeds from 65MPH to 73MPH. Mine is an 04 GT. auto. with 19,745 miles and it's never run better. Each ECU update seems to improve power and mileage. Haven't calculated city driving for MPG. but I suspect it's at least 18/19 MPG. I'll admit I'm a conservative driver that's probably why I get decent mileage. This isn't the first time I've gotten good highway MPG. but it is the highest ever.

Are you taking into account elevation. Here in Louisiana even though it's mostly flat I notice a big difference going across the state on the same route going back and forth.

Great Mileage
The drive is comprised of moderate uphills and downhills through the Green Mountains of Vermont and the same in N.H. becoming flat leaving New Hampshire into Massachusetts. Probably 65% up and down and 35% flat for the whoke drive. Very smooth roads, a magnificent scenic ride.

And a 1000 foot elevation change between the mountains of vermont and the lowlands of Massachusetts. Dollars to donuts you reverse your trip and you'll see several MPG worse.
Also, another contributing factor is the gas served up in VT is non-reforumulated/oxygenated gasoline - i.e. pure gasoline with no ethanol or MBTE displacing energy content.
Lastly, I do not know how in the hell you keep your car at 73 mph or under. Mine has one setting on the highway - 80 mph +
So, you may have cracked the formula for one run - but I sure as hell wouldn't be able to replicate that.

AMEN brother. I think my cruise control auto-sets itself at around ~85mph or so... no matter what my brain thinks it's set to... hehe! OMG, I'm going to have to drive a giant 26' Penske moving truck from Atlanta to Chicago in 3 weeks... that's going to be hysterical... doing 65mph... GAH!

I drove down to North Kingstown, RI this past Sat for the Blue Angels Air Show. With 4 adults, A/C on at no. 2 mark 95% of the time, an hour sitting in traffic, 80-85 mph speeds, and ~160 miles (round trip), I got about 18.8-19.0 mpg.
Not bad at all, I guess.

I was playing the mpg game recently when gas took it's Summer hike.
I babied the car for a whole tank (sub 3500 rpms always) and got an average of 22.6 mpg (mixed city and highway).
Then I drove the car like I always did and got 21.8 mpg mixed driving
Recently did an all highway trip for work and got nearly 24 mpg.
I actually test drove a couple cars that are supposed to get great gas mileage and none were as fun to drive as my 8.

Find another dealer, call them before you go there and ask them to check your car(VIN) for recent pcm flashes, if you're not up to date ask them for an appt.

Getting around 18-19 mpg here with mostly town driving here, although that will change next week when I change job locations and will be driving 30 miles one way to work everyday. I'm not that conservative either, and only have about 7500 miles on my car. It is possible to get semi-good gas mileage in this bad boy.
