Great to be part of the community, at last!
Just wanted to drop a hello to everyone. I've been lurking the forums for the past month or so, doing my research about the RX-8. Thanks to everyone for all of the helpful posts that are around!
I've wanted an RX-8 since they were first introduced, however I needed something with a bit more space to haul band equipment around in -- so I wound up with a 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback Ralliart (in first pic below, actually). It was (finally) paid off last November but I wanted to wait until it was a bit warmer before I started shopping. Got pre-approved for a loan and started looking.
Finally found the right one for me. A 2005 6MT GT, white. ~39k miles on it. Great condition, runs really well! Per advice on the forum, took it to the dealer and had all open recalls performed, PCM flash, new plugs, wires, ignition coils, etc... runs like a dream! Since purchasing it, every time I drive it, I have this enormous smile on my face.
Oh, and my 2-year-old daughter loves it too. She loves the beep and sits in the back encouraging me to "make car go vroom vroom, daddy!".. makes me even happier.
Hopefully I can become an active and helpful member of the community as well!
Pics, the day that I brought my RX-8 home. Sorry for the poor quality. They were taken on my cell phone. Gonna get the real camera out and post some better ones later!

Thanks, everyone!
Yeah, I definitely did my research. I figured the forum didn't need another "so how reliable are these rotary engines?" posts. .. that and the search box is your friend.
I love the color too. It's very eye-catching! It's one of the things that really made me want this one over a couple of the others that I looked at. Didn't realize it was a rare color! Hmf. Fascinating!

Thanks for the additional welcomes, everyone!
@Kaiser bun,@200.mph: Pennsylvania, Lansdale to be specific. Out near Philadelphia.
@DocBeech: Not sure about that but I definitely think that a RX8Club one is in order, eh? Should be standard equipment!
@adamwzl: Yep, I caught that thread last night and posted already. The 15th of August sounds perfect! Hopefully nothing comes up before then!

Regarding doing my research, I guess I don't see how someone can't figure out how to use a search box. I mean, really. Most information can be had if you take time to look for it.. or at least lurking around the forum for a bit. I wait for other people to ask my dumb questions for me.
@Krazed_Rx8: Hadn't really thought about that much. I think that the first thing that I want to do is get one of those devices to plug into the radio so I can use my iPod or USB storage for playing music. I checked my radio revision and it shouldn't be an issue. Next, maybe new wheels/tires. Probably a higher flow intake and maybe a new exhaust but not something so obnoxious that I feel like one of those ricer teens flying down the street. Maybe better quality wires.. stuff like that. I'm more interested in making the car sound "healthier" I guess.. if you understand what I mean. No idea beyond that. I don't need the car to have over 9000 horsepower to be happy with it. I'll probably just keep scanning the forums and see what everyone thinks are fun and must-have mods and go from there. Aesthetically, it's a really pretty car to look at so I'm not really all that positive if I'd do any body or interior mods.
@terch1: Hey, thanks! You too!
