Greddy exhaust cause Check engine light!!
i had been dealing with Check engine light for 2 week... i went to dealer twice for check engine light..my car is only 3000 miles..i change exhaust to Greddy SP2 and dealer claim that cause the Check engine light!!nothing wrong with engine.. they said need to upgrade software for ECU...
any suggestion>??? by the way they said i can drive with check engine light is on without any problem....Is that ture?????

Yes it's true that you can drive with a CEL without a problem as long as the thing causing the CEL isn't a big deal such as an exhaust sensor. Is it just a catback that you installed, if so it really shouldn't be causing a cell unless you have a really really bad leak.

try another dealer perhaps. what ecu upgarade do you have? do you have the "M" flash?
I have a greddy sp2 have had it for about 6-7 months or so, no engine light at all.
CEL light: it is safe to drive if it is on for that reason, but if you have another problem which would cause the check engine light to come on and you think it is the exhaust and actually it is another problem and you keep driving, it could be bad news. find out more about the update the dealer is talking about. I really dont think the exhaust should cause the light. if you have your old exhaust still try swapping back to see if it makes a difference.
