GREDDY Turbo solutions

I got a Greddy being installed on Sat. for those of you that dont know, this kit doesent come with a BOV AT ALL. I had Mark from Tri-Point talk to Greddy and they told him, "yes, the BOV is Very important in this kit..." yet, they dont sell it with the kit. heck, it doesent even come with the flange. Anyway, our solution is that were going to be dropping in a factory FD BOV circulating system in it. (I dont mean to sound like a n00b, but I am a n00b. I might be naming the things wrong) But personally, my #1 reason why i wanted the Kit was because i wanted BOV. apperantly it cant be done with an rx8, the Blow off has to go through tubbing back into the intake (which is awsome) but i doubt i'll get the "Whoooosh" sound that we all love. have any of you experimented with this? and if I DO plug in a greddy BOV, what are the dangers of doing this?

Thanks in advance.

as far as i know, no one has done a fd bov with the rx8 and greddy kit. as for vta (vent to atmosphere) many people have done it, as long as the fuel management is tuned right, you will have no issues. this like will probably help you resolve any issues you have

On any car with a maf there can be issues with VTA no matter how well it's tuned. How bad the issues will be with the RX-8 I can say for sure. However, there are plenty of factory FI cars that run like crap with a VTA BoV. FYI, if it's designed to always go back to the intake it's a diverter valver rather than a blow off valve.

Lastly, if you have hard tubing you'll still get a noise. If not you probably won't hear much.

tri point engineering is pretty good, they know their stuff...hopefully they wont eff this one up, but alot of the times its greddy's fault....faulty ****...you get what you pay for..

It's a starter kit. It will require some additional changes to get working well. In addition to a BOV, get a boost controller. And all new hoses.

But personally, my #1 reason why i wanted the Kit was because i wanted BOV. apperantly it cant be done with an rx8, the Blow off has to go through tubbing back into the intake (which is awsome) but i doubt i'll get the "Whoooosh" sound that we all love. have any of you experimented with this? and if I DO plug in a greddy BOV, what are the dangers of doing this?
I think you can clamp the air to prevent the car from bogging down when you vent to atmosphere, but I have never tried it.

You can set your BOV to recirculate the air back into the intake pipe - that's what I did:

You'll barely be able to hear any sound at all from the BOV with this setup.

If you went with the interceptor-x, you wouldn't need to bother since it's MAP based and wouldn't use the MAF at all.

Rick from Rick's Rotary did just that when he installed the Greddy kit on his automatic RX-8. Recirculating too.

You may love it but I don't. I would be just as happy if it didn't make any audible noise at all. That "whoosh" is much like painting stock calipers red--it has more rice appeal than anything else.

For the record I have the Greddy kit and RS BOV, plumbed to recirculate back into the intake pipe. No issues and I can still hear the "whoosh" occassionally.

A recirculating BOV is A Good Thing To Do.
