GT Package Yes or No?

IMO:

The GT package is worth it, but MANY others disagree. So let's pick it apart and provide newbies and those yet to place their order with some friendly insight. . .

For me, if the GT package is the only way to get that two tone leather interior with the door trim . . . get it. It is awesome (quality and look)

This is how I see the GT package being justified:

Leather: $1750 (even base leather is over a grand in most two-seater sports cars)

Moonroof: $700 (usually a $1000 or more option, but it is small and does not open all the way)

Power & Lumbar Seat: $300 (well it is lame that it does not include both seats, so I hammer Mazda on this one)

Heated Seats and Mirrors: $400 (work well, good for a few months here in Altanta).

Xenons: $500 (very cool, as good as any other car company)

Fog Lights: $150 (not a very expensive option in most cars)

Mirror with Homelink: $150 (if I can get it to work with my garage door opener, day/night is nifty)

DSC: $300 (approx. invoice of other sports cars)

BOSE $0 (useless in my opinion, no changer as originally promised)

Total: $4250

SO, even if I screw Mazda on the power seat and Bose issue, the GT package comes out well worth it.

What do you all think?

GT is the best way to go.

It will also help its resale value (not that I plan on selling mine anytime soon)

Okay I pulled my notes on this one.

To me, the essentials are covered in the Sport pkg. for man/auto models.

BUT considering use and "luxury" (nice stuff)

BOSE radio - no highs no lows, thats BOSE (just kidding)
homelink (had to erase mine to get working but great feature)
heated mirrors (for fog and dew)

THESE ARE USEABLE ITEMS

Fluff - see below

moonroofs are okay but heated seats are well, FL is a hotbed.

Leather eh, looks good but cloth is okay too. Cloth holds you in better (I think)

I would either consider the Sport or go all the way for the GT as I did and have it all except NAV (don't travel distance enough)

Final Verdict GT yes unless I could not swing the extra $2800 (less spt pkg) but I would not do without the sport pkg PERIOD.

this i agree

for me, what really matters are the high-power motor, 6-speed, HID, foglights, and DSC. the rest are all nice extras that i don't mind living w/o. curiously, i'm beginning to not like the sunroof so much, after seeing one w/ it open for the first time today. and lots been saying that the BOSE isn't so great? being that i'd add and change things when i get mine, it's nice to save a little $. just one man's opinion :D no doubt it's a pretty good value, tho, and the two-tone leather is hot, although they only come in all black w/ yellow anyway. if they also offer black/yellow, then it'd be different
