Good review rx8wannahave...for every day driving, the RX8 is the near-perfect sports car that is affordable (that's why I bought it, duh). Btw, your doors don't self lock when you turn your engine on?

Yes, after you get in the car and shut the door. Look on the driver door panel and press the door lock mechanism. This will then lock your vehicle doors. To unlock just repeat said steps.

Sure...I'll make an attempt...but it's not when it starts moving, it's simply when the engine turns on after I crank it up...

and it doesnt have 100% of the time actually, it occassionally forgets

Dunno, maybe my car loves me enough to lock me in

I never understood the self-locking thing. What happens if you get in an accident or drive off a bridge into water and can't get out of the car?

I know it's to prevent someone jumping into your car at a stop light, but for people that don't live in the hood (or for Canadians ), they should be able to turn off this annoying option, IMO.

EDIT. I'm making a generalization about newer cars. The RX-8, as far as I know, does NOT have an auto-lock feature...at least mine didn't.

Nah I'm serious

I thought it came standard. And you just flick the lock to unlock if you decide to jump out, khtm.

I think your 8 is possessed, Raptor...the only auto-lock that should come with the 8 is when you unlock with the FOB and don't open a door within 30 seconds or so.

Yeah, what he said...^

I think your 8 might have special powers or something????

I grew up in Miami and lived in hoodish places when I was young, and later to a not so hoody place but with all the car jackings that take place in this state (Mainly down south) it's a feature I would love to have.

Oh...come to think of it, the previous owner (used...yes, but it looked new at 8000 miles and was broken in) put on a aftermarket Python alarm system...would that be it? It doesn't self lock when the engine is off btw
