Had to do it!
I traded in my RX-8 last week. I moved to north Georgia and the roads around I-75 and 575 beat the crap out of it and the hills are a pain with the 6-speed. Anyway got a 4-runner like everyone else and now I just blend with the rest. I really loved the car and enjoyed my 18 months with it but, my son was getting to big for the backseat. Anyway I'll still read what is going on from time to time and you guys and gals enjoy your cars. By the way they tried to give me $20,000.00 for a '04 gt with 12,000 miles. Sold it for 24k. Good luck.

He is 7 yrs old and 4' 8" and when he is in back , my wife whom is 5'9" looks like she is going through the windshield. Hey, like I said I love the car but the back seat IS small.
I didn't want to blend, I had to. Needed more room, and a quality truck. Sorry.

I can't imagine spending more than 10 minutes in the backseat (5'11" 200lbs). From back there you have no visibility. Even with the seat all the way forward I feel cramped and clostrophobic.
Enjoy your new ride...hang around.

curious as to what you 'needed' a truck for? I mean, you didn't give up the 8 because you had a trailer to tow, or a need to carry sheets of plywood every day, or the desire to drive down streams and go mudding. So what truck duties did you need a truck for? no, soccer practice is not a truck duty :p
I don't mean to bust your *****, but in the last 2 days, 3 people have told me they 'needed' a truck, and they most certainly did not. The 4runner is a nice one though, congrats.

You should have gotten a Camry. You would definitely blend in and have a roomy backseat. It has Toyota quality and gets about 10 more mpg than a 4 runner which will help when gas goes up 20 cents a gallon next week thanks to Katrina.

I fit perfectly in all my seats, but i do agree that visibility in the back is not so good... the rear side windows are like portholes. But at least Mazda included the cool feature of being able to pop them open!

well, well. First I only keep most cars about 2 years, very bad habit of getting board. The car was awesome but for ME it was not the most comfortable. I'm 6'1" and 245 and it gets old after awhile for ME. The truck just gave me and me family more room. The reason I was able to get 24k for the car is in north Georgia you see about 2 rx-8 a week, although there is a Mazda dealership in Marietta that would sell you a brand new gt for about 26k. Don't know what to tell you a you a kid wanted it and his parents bought it for him..Belive it or not. Anyway...once again great car and you guys enjoy it, still love seeing them on the road..nothing else like it.

Thank you! The hills are only a pain here because you always get caught at a light on a UP hill. :-)
