Happy new year to me!
Hey guys I just picked up my 04 RX-8 yesterday, I was looking at them for about 7 months when i was deployed, and I just got home. I already love the thing.
04' 6-speed with 42k miles on it., winning metallic blue. :]
Quick question, does anyone else think its a bit tricky to engage first gear coming out of a stop, cause I've stalled it twice at lights. Its my first road worthy standard car, and I'll either give too much gas and then the clutch engages and it burns out and i look like an ***, or I don't give it enough gas and I fail.
Just seems the gas is super sensitive when coming out of a stop engaging first gear.

I don't have that problem. You may have a bad clutch. Check to see if you have the upgraded clutch.
Take some pics and post them!!!!

Oh yes! I remember there was a service bulletin for the clutch. My car is out of warranty but I know the service rep at the Mazda dealer said If there was an issue with the clutch pedal it would still get serviced.
And pics coming right up!

FYI RX8's do have very sensitive clutch feel which I dont really like and the lack of lowend torque isnt helping either.
you just need to give it more gas and be smooth on the clutch

Thanks for the info guys. Very helpful. Ill see what they say when I take it in for a de-carb. They told me it only had a 4 year warranty but everyone is saying they have an 8year 100k mile warranty so I'm still confused.
The Mazda dealership gave me a printout of the warranty information on the VIN and everything except Federal Emissions has expired.
And I'm from the East Coast of Massachusetts.

When you say this, do you mean its the first manual transmission that you have had much experience with? If so then you could just be coming off the clutch too quickly... Try to let it out a little slower and give it more gas in the process as needed...
Congrats on the car! I have always thought winning blue looks incredible
