I was on my way to work and had to stop at an intersection when a new MB 500SL Convertable pulls up next to me and starts to rubber neck to get a look at my car. This guy was just staring at all it's details and seemed very impressed. Prior to this a new Porsche 911 turbo was passing me when he slowed down and was checking out the car. I know there have been threads about how people check out our cars but it's quite the compliment when people that drive cars 4 - 5 times the price of ours are admiring it.

 

Yep, happens all the time. I live in a somewhat rich neighborhood (everyone but me has money) and there are nice cars everyone. It never fails though, the car gets the looks. And I love that the car gets the looks. Heck, I'm looking too!!!

 

I know I get alot of rubber neckers in car that cost 2x the price of ours.....it's a good fealing

I haven't noticed people really checking my car out. I do notice that sitting at red lights looking in my mirrors, it looks like people are talking about my car a lot (pointing at it, discussing, staring at it and making gestures like they're pointing out things about my car)...I just hope they're not saying something like "Man, that short guy driving the RX8 is really goofy looking." :p

 

I'd say kids love it... happens to many often when little kids gonna point at my car and telling their Hot Moms.. nice car...haha

 

One time I was coming out of Target and almost to my car and I heard this guy talking about how whoever owned that car must be rich with no kids and instantaneously I , a 23 year old, got in the car with my 2 little boys, he know I heard because he said SORRY....It was classic....LOL!

 

:D I love it. I came out of one of my buildings last this past week and a few guys were standing next to it when I walked up. I caught them off guard and asked if they liked her and of course got many compliments, including the paint. :D Gotta love that red!

 

The RED is nice, used to have it on the 3, always got wowed....

 

One of my buddies drives a Ferrari, and he constantly "wows" over my car. He's got an eye for sexy things. You should see this guy's girlfriend. *** the size of a teacup and **** the size of beer kegs.

I guy at the Chevron asked if it was "that there new rotary, and if it was fast?", I said yep 400 HP under the hood.

People especially tend to check to front of the car, which looks too damn good. Another issue is that's it's winter and they just don't get it that I've 18" with winter tires. Well, deep in the heart of BMW country ...

I just remembered something after reading the hp question. I had an odd experience at an exhaust/performance shop Friday afterwork (the guy tried selling me flowmaster). The first question he asked was if it had 4 or 6 cylinders. I should have just turned around and left right then.

Not really on topic, but still interesting (at least to me).

 

the one thing that makes me happy is, everone thinks I paid 40 and up, the most I got was 50k. Only thing that happen to me that didn't make me happy was a bum at the gas station tapping the hood of my car and gave me thumbs up. Not that i'm putting the bum down, it's just that i don't like strangers touching it. I remember when I first got the car, only 20 min. and already I saw three people putting their hands on my car, trying to look inside. WTH look but don't touch please. My friends tell me that whay I get for buying a yellow car lol.

 

I had the weirdest compliment last week. As I was getting into my car, some guy walked past, gawking at my car. He said "that's one fancy car you got there." Now, I've heard it called sexy, awesome, bitchin, hot.....but never "fancy".

 

My wife loves when we see people doing the Exorcist (head turning completely around) trying to get a look at the car. We have had people standing around the car when we walk out of the store. The red does get noticed!!
