Have you been pulled over in you RX-8........Yet? ;)

once, almost twice
I got pulled over one day going 69km in a 50km zone. I was going with the traffic flow on a large wide street. No word of a lie, there were 3 cars ahead of me and 3 behind me all going the same speed. The cop was coming in the opposite direction, pulled a u-turn and pulled me over. If I was driving my cavalier there is no chance that I would have been pulled over!

habinero, sorry to hear that. A friend of mine (who is a cope) told me that you should never just except the fine. Fight it and at lease you have a chance to reduce the fine and may be even get off with one.
I had a few tickets myself during my youth and I always went to court and 90% of the time I got the fine reduced. It can't get worse than the worse part of the long term insurance cost.
So far I have been very careful when I want to push the car.:D

I got the blue light special as I crested a hill doing 68 in a 55. Had my radar detector on, but it's little help when you get sprayed with instant on! The good news is I was doing about 80 a half mile back!

85 in a 60...on I-95 down by Miami, lots of traffic all moving same speed, 4 state troopers pulling over one by one - i was in the left lane and got unlucky. Actually, first I was passing them and one of them waved to me to pull over - of course I'm not going to pull over just being waved at. So then the cop in front pulled out and pulled me over. Guy was an ******* - I got a lawyer to fight it for me, I live 5 hrs away in Orlando.

Pulled over on my way back to Dallas and was given 3 tickets/warnings:
1) Failure to vacate lane adjacent to emergency vehicle. (huh?)
2) Rear licenses plate had the top part of the word “Texas” obscured as a result of the dealer's plate frame.
3) Front licenses plate was not attached.
I ditched the dealer licenses plate frame and purchased one that has a thin frame that covers nothing. I still have not put a plate on the front because of the "bunny" look. Changing lanes to avoid passing too close to a police vehicle is a good law...I didn't know anything about that one.

Yea they got me once at 95mph going home from work on I-75 (fl) Then I purchased the top of the line radar detector. So far so good. I also took her up to 148!! It was great but I dont want to get caught again.

No tickets yet but two warnings. First warning, was two days after buying the car, I woke up early and wanted to drive just to get past the break in point, was on a highway but in a construction zone (note about 3-4 am, no construction going on) and was pulled over doing 62 in a 45. The cop asked me where I was going, and I explained nowhere in particular, just traveling teh interstates in kinda a circle to break the engine in. He let me go. About three months later (just purchased a radar detecter because it's very easy to go way too fast (triple digits) when punching it to pass a slow car in the left lane, I was getting on the highway (5 lanes) and was WOT and looking and moving left when I noticed a car trying to pull on me. It looked funny and I slowed and moved behind a car one lane from the left, he turned the lights on and I pulled over. He asked for my DL and POI (proof in ins), which I provided, and asked me why I thought he pulled me over, I said I don't konw, he said "do you always 85 in a 60," I said "I actually don't know what I was doing," he said slow down and that was it. I think my RD saved my but. He didn't clock me, and he noticed the RD suctioned cupped under the mirror, so he knew I knew he didn't trap me with radar/laser, and there was now way he paced me for 3 seconds. The total distance was too short for him to be traveling at a legal speed, observe me, accelerate to my speed, and track me for 3 seconds at 85 AND pull me over where he did.

Pulled over once for 50 in a 35 on a deserted back road at night. No ticket because, as the cop said, I would only be hurting myself if I crashed. Lucky for me he didn't check the front where I "forgot" to affix my front plate. Also lucky for me he wasn't a mile up the road - I was doing 60 through a set of tight curves - you can get the car to overstear without the TCS on.

My first time posting--but had to. I got pulled over because the Hi-Po hadn't seen this car around before and just wanted to look at it He thought it was awesome. I was very nice to him and showed it off because the next time I will want hime to treat me nice I am sure--I had the passenger side doors open and he was looking around--people had to be thinking I was busted big time

I got nailed for going 61 in a 40 mph area. I may have been doing 53 or so but I was definitely not going 61. I had my Passport 8500 on and it lit up for K bank radar. The cop tried to tell me he got me on Laser although he wasn't holding the detector in his hand. He said it was mounted on his car and he saw it from the outside of his car where he was standing. I think that is horse manure as I am advised that to get a valid reading the operator has to focus in with the detector on the front of the car. As an attorney, I have learned from sad experience that I am dead meat when I try to defend myself on a ticket. I took driver's training and the $95 fee rather than the $285 ticket for going more than 20 over the limit.
