you guys are making this far more complicated then it needs to be.
Buy the one that makes the most sense to YOU. You obviously ordered the R3 for a reason so it's time to check those reasons again and see if they still make sense.
Grab a piece of paper, on one side write R3, on the other write GT. Jot down the 3 reasons for getting each one and the 3 disadvantages in getting it. (consider cost, value, warranty, length of ownership, financing rates, etc)
This will give you an answer.

While it is true that we cannot continue to finance our growth through foreign capital inflows, it's a fallacy to say that producing in America is the answer to the problem. IMO, the issue with your solution is it encourages inefficiency, by making goods artificially more expensive. As I see it, the best solution is to increase domestic saving. This will allow us to sustain our 3% growth rate without relying on other countries like China for investment. But hey, to each his own.

The manufacturer's original bumper to bumper warrantee will still be your's for the balance of the time or mileage (whichever runs out first) regardless who you buy it from. Mine was listed as 4yrs/50k miles, so I still have until Mar. '10 on my manuf. warrantee on my '05 (any Mazda dealer can pull up the service history, TSB's and remaining warranty)
You should also have the 8 year, 100k powertrain only warranty on an '07. (up to the '08's)
Someone please chime in if this information is incorrect/different for some reason.
