headlight catching a fire

am i the only one thats had this problem? I have smelled a burning smell for the past 3 monthes on my 8,I hardly drive it at night since the winter has come. A few weeks ago,the headlight totally went dim while driving so when I pulled over,my headlight was filled with smoke,so instantly ripped the inner fender out, pulled the bulb out and it had melted the assembly and busted the bulb, luckily warranty covered it.

Sounds like the bulb may not have been seated properly? If the bulb was touching any of the inner walls of the projector (plastic) then it could have melted that onto the bulb, bulb could have got melted plastic on it, melted plastic centralized heat on the bulb, bulb overheated and started smoking ...

just a thought.
