I know what he was trying to say, it's the way he said it. Every car does not appreciate in value. That's just ridiculous to say. But if you all bought the 8 with the anticipation that it would miraculously increase in value over the next 20+ years then good for you, you really know a good investment when you see it

I hate to break it to you but there are still '05 Shinkas sitting on dealer lots. It may be a little less common than some other colors but it's not exactly a rare car. Just enjoy the car for what it is (a great handling well balanced car) and if you bought the car because you thought it would be rare or unique than you don't deserve the car.

Woah...I think I've rattled a few cages with my initial comment. You mean to tell me that if I wanted something "rare", I don't deserve it? That's crazy man. And with just 1,357 Shinkas produced in 2005, i think it's safe to say that its pretty rare, regardless of how many are still on lots for initial sale.
BUT, that's not why I bought it, but if I did, with me being the guy putting the cash up, I should be able to have whatever motives I like.
I bought the car only after driving it. I've assisted in the sale of about 8 RX-8s on my word alone. I just live in a town where they are every 6th car......and I'd like my rare ride to stand out a bit if that's alright.

I tell ya what, I'll meet you half way. I'll check back in 500 years and we can continue the debate..

Meanwhile, Mazda Canada decided to re-introduce BRG. From 1994 through 1997, BRG was just another regular colour. It was available on the Base model (with the black cloth interior), and the Leather Package (like my '96 - aside, Canada's Leather Package was much closer in options spec to the US M Editions than to the US C or LP). On a whim, I inquired once about attending the Gathering of the Green with my Canadian 96 BRG - and was told that I couldn't, since my factory BRG/tan Miata wasn't a 1991!
