Well, congratulations. I was responding to your earlier posts and had to do something with the kids and when I came back to complete my reply and post, I noticed that it was too late, you already bought one, Good luck and enjoy!

According to both the dealer and the Window Sticker the vehicle does not have the CD changer. I thought it was strange too but then I stopped worrying about it. The CD changers in my other vehicles almost ALWAYS have the same CDs in them for months at a time.
As far as all the MPG stuff goes I decided to stop freaking out about the whole thing. It is not like I live in Chicago or California where gas costs more than 2 bucks a gallon. Right now I can get premium over here for something like $1.70. Not great, but not bad. I was in Chicago a few weeks ago and 82 octane was something like 1.85. So.... My job also looks like it may go the work from home route soon.
Between this website and other websites it seems that the MPG depends on a couple of factors. The two biggest factors seem to be heaviness of foot and ECM code level. Time will tell on this one.
Let's face it... I just wanted a new toy. My wife bugged the heck out of me for a minivan for the last year and why should she get to buy the last toy? =) The 8 may not have a DVD player but I sure had a smile on my face on the drive home last night.

The cd changer is indeed separate - there is no package that includes the cd changer. I got it added in my GT package as well.
Congrats and enjoy. I know I'm the least bit disappointed in my decision to buy the 8

Congratulations, went_postal!
Just to add to the long commute debate. I drive 92 miles round trip every day. I'd much rather have a long commute than a very short one with this car. Yes, I fill up every third day. But since my miles are mostly highway, I've averaged 22.3 mpg over the 12500 mile life of my car. In general, it's people with very short commutes who get the worst mileage.
And there's no car in this price range that's more fun to drive. If you're going to be in your car for a long time every day, might as well enjoy it!
