Help! Locked myself out
So I locked myself out of my car cuz of the slam locks, accidently left the keys in the center console and slammed the door shut. Is there anyway to open the door from the outside if i dont have a spare? or someway to jimmy the door open without calling a locksmith of some sort?

It's for this very reason you should have a spare.

Call Mazda Road side Assiantant
18008661998
I think they can come and open it for you, but they will "probably" charge you, since its your fault that you lock urself out.
and expect to wait at least an hour for that.
(what happen to the valet key anyway? you suppose to get 2 keys, one FOB and one for valet)

the rx8 doesn't have a slam lock. What it has is that it will auto lock the doors if you accidently unlock them and dont open the door handle. For instance...
I have the habit of as i'm walking towards my car to unlock it from a far distance. If i unlock it and take too long to get there (30 seconds i think) it will lock back up again. maybe that's what happened.

yes. he has been waiting out in the desert (roadtrip to las vegas from MD) for 2 days, & roadside assistance has yet to show up. his laptop w/ wireless died, so he cannot access the forum, & his cell died a few minutes ago when i was talking to him on the phone trying to help.
