Help me out guys
This happened today with all the crazy shopping traffic. Basically, I came up to a yield sign behind a car. She went (the car in front), I looked left saw it was clear and started rolling through the yield. Next thing I know my front right is hitting her left rear. She apparently stopped in the middle of the turn. I am not sure who is at fault. Let me know your thoughts on that. Second, look at the pics and tell me if you think this will be a lot more than $500 (my deductible). Thanks ...BTW I feel sick right now...

On the positive side, look at this as a learning experience. The next time you will, as I have learned to do, not take your eyes off the person in front until you are positive they have cleared the stop/yield point. And you will likely keep your eyes on your rearview mirrors when you are the front car as well. We all feel for you, but all you can do is get it repaired at a good body shop and it will look like new.

im sorry for what happen , second imsorry to tell you its your fault, if there is no dents on the door and front fender you can use something named LIQUID LUSTRE. that would remove the blue paint fron your car and give an super shine to the car too. best product i ever used to shyne mycar. good luck and hopefully this dont start a curse of the titanium silvers now

Yeah I assume that I am going to be at fault. Although, she did pass the yield sign and stop on the right side of the road. I asked my insurance company some questions. They didn't think it was cut and dry and apparently they assign fault by percent. Just sucks because my 2.5 year old point from a ticket falls off in may.....If I am at fault I will have to have two points on my record for six months...

The insurance companies are big on trying to distribute fault these days. A friend of mine was sitting at a light and a cab backed into him. The cab driver admitted he was backing up but his insurance tried to convince my friend that he was 25% at fault on the logic he could have backed up also to avoid the collision. With traffic behind, not a real option! Anyway, you might have more than $500 damage but probably not by much. If there's no damage to the other car I think you'd be better off to just fix it yourself (assuming you haven't already reported it to your insurance).

Its too bad the younger you are the more you get it up the a$$ on the insurance merry-go-round.....and I feel for the ones that DO actually take they're driving seriously, but the averages are against the newbies, and not to count out the F'kd up adults that persist on being lame irresponsable drivers themselves. If your going to own an 8 or any other sports vehicle ,you better learn to drive it, know its weaknesses and advantages, or expect to pay up.

Thanks for the responses guys. I am moving along in the grief process Anyways, first thing monday morning I am taking into Caliber Collision Center to get an estimate. Based on how that turns out, I will make my decision. I will either just pay for it myself or if the estimate is real high I will make an insurance claim. I heard there is a delay for points to post and that it likely wouldn't post until after my other one came off. Anyone ever deal with Caliber collsion? They are in Cal and Texas and I have seen some positive things.

Some doofus in a buick aborted his right turn after I took my eyes off him (I did see him pulling away). I eased my `79 Chevy 1-ton forward to follow him through the same right turn, but looking at the traffic approaching from the left (there were three lanes each way). As I crept forward I felt the wheels rub the curb so I pushed the gas harder against the resistance of the friction on the curb. Then my girl-friend taps my shoulder and says, "uummmm". Turns out I hadn't rubbed the curb; I had gently (fortunately) brought my bumper into contact with their bumper and pushed that buick forward about 10 feet. Fortunately, the right-most 2 lanes were perfectly clear (hence my attempt to pull out - I have no idea why they hesitated) and the folks in the buick simply goggled at me with big eyes and alarmed looks for a second before deciding to flee. No harm done, cheap lesson, never repeated that mistake (I specialize in new mistakes).

My dad got sued by a guy for "approximate cause" when he was in California, and the guy won!!! He was sitting a stop sign, exactly where he was supposed to be, and this guy and his girlfriend on a motorcycle came up over the rise, saw my dad there, got startled, and wiped out in the road. The basis of the approximate cause was that the guy didn't expect to see him there since there aren't cars at that side road very often since it is an old logging road (my dad's a logger). My dad didn't pull out or anything, didn't hit him. Just saw him coming and then wipe out in front of him. He got to help them, used up his first aid kit on them, called the ambulance, and everything, and then got sued. His insurance took care of it, though. I thought that was one of the dumbest clauses I ever heard, approximate cause. Should't the guy have just been a more attentive driver?

You're at fault, the person you hit is at fault, the guy who sold you a beer the week before is at fault, and the entire tobacco industry is at fault.
I'm fairly confident, though, that *I'm* not at fault.

It's Back!
Got my car back today. Came out great. Here are a couple pics of the "after". The separation from my car made me appreciate the car even more. I feel like when I just got the car...good times. I need to take a drive. I have been driving my wife's Tundra all week. It is a great truck with a smooth ride but so different from what I am used to.
