This same story is cropping up on this forum in several states now, do a search and ask those who posted for their comments on how they were treated. It might help you feel better. If it helps, today mine did the same thing, notchy second gear. (I also have trouble with fourth.) I have a Mazda work order that DOES say this: "Customer states hard to shift into 2ND gear. Verified concern, found bulletin for roll over noise, exchanged fluid and let customer report back to us." So, there is something going on here, but what it is I do not know. Good Luck, and let us know what you find out.

I'm not sure yet. I've been waiting to see if it gets worse. As you've noted, it does not show itself all the time and I can just hear the mechanic saying they did not find any problems during a test drive.

Do I smell Class Action Lawsuit in the making? I hope Mazda comes out with a TSB to resolve this problem before that happens.

It is TOTALLY incomprehensible to spend 30K for a car whose tranny grinds and is notchy.

My Mazda dealers "skirting" of the issue is inexcuseable and flat out pathetic.

I bought where I bought because I "Expected the Best".

NEWSFLASH: Don't believe the commercials.
