Why? He has the upper intake manifold off in the picture...should be easy to get at
Yes i have pretty much everything you can get at, off the car. Its all coming apart anyway. Lots of advise so far guys. This is basically a club rebuild. And since im doing this. What you think of porting. And what follows that procedure. (As in other things like ecu programing)
Bing-*******-Go. LOL
Dan knew what I meant, anyway. ;-)
The beauty of the First Amendment is the right to walk away...... LOL
Perhaps I should send Bennet a gift card. LOL
Folks, I have dozens of zingers and appear daily here at the RX8Club. :-p
You seemed like a decent guy but all youve been doig is trying to discourage me and pick at things im doing. I have alot of confidence an i believe i can do this. You know its sad because im pretty silly with my money and no shortage of it. Also i was planning on getting almost everything from you when i started to rebuild. (And im doing the whole car over). Way to lose buisness.
PS. I got the kit from bennet because i didnt have spark. The kit did get the spark back.

Some things to keep in mind; aside from marking your fuel injector wiring harness with 100% ACCURACY (caps for emphasis), all other engine harness connectors are unique to the sensor to which they attach. The engine is installed in the chassis at the factory in less than a minute, so keep that in mind as to helping understand it is supposed to be nearly fool-proof for re-installation. Take photos of everything before disassembly. Pay attention to the engine harness as the wires will almost fall in place naturally if you do not mess with them too much after removal for rebuild. Go buy the Mazda engine build manual at your local dealer or favorite OEM website (#9999-95-E13B-MSP) and follow it exactly as specified. If you decide to custom-cut your side seals, pay STRICT attention to the fact that they are a three-axis grind/cut. If you do not know how to read bearing wear or measure it them with micrometers/calipers, you should not be doing an engine build yourself. Same holds true for torque wrenches.
I am not trying to be a dick nor discourage you but, if you want first-time success, these are the things you will need to know or master in order to build a nice engine for yourself.
^ That's not entirely true.
This is constructive criticism.

If selling products is dodging bullets he sure did. Anyways on the rx8 progress. Everything is apart and chains on it. Just built a new bench and engine stand is coming.

Do you want the advice or no? Confidence is fine, but confidence isn't going to make that motor run right. Proper prior planning and not alienating people who have done this a time or 20 will.

Yes it was very good advice and info. Much appreciated charles. No feelings were hurt. Im just going insane working and trying to get this done at the same time. Aswell as spend time with the kids. Lets move on. My apologies.

Good decision. Big of you.
Respect.
Just a little advice, if someone is trying to help you and asks you something , it's a good idea to respond to them, or you may appear rude, and discourage others from doing so.
Sorry. Yes i did do alot of checking and cleaning of just about everything. Including a new ess and 20 stomp following it. Im quit positive its compression. It was the only thing that was left.
So i got the engine on the bench because the stand is in use. Anyway should i be able to turn the engine full rotation by hand via flywheel?. Or is compression supposed to resist. Just a thought
