I was a second too late, but smart choice though. Have fun with the SI, I was looking into that car when I was car shopping.

Before anyone flies into a rage about what the SI owners said, remember what the back of their car says.

I have nothing against the car. I like all cars. I just love rx8 more than any other car.

For the record, the clubsi forum made my evening!

Those kids on the clubSI forum are what? An average of 15.3 years old?

Sat in the new Si at the show, a huge improvement over previous Si's, basically a RSXs for much less money. Honda engines are amazing too, I get over 150 HP from my Honda sportbike with less than 1000cc's; and its reliable, tractable, and easy to maintain. Honda performance fours are among my favourite engines...still behind the 13B though.

I honestly wouldn't get a used car over a new one, too many unknowns. But, I'd wait to get enough money to buy what I really want.

it's more embarrasing to say you drive a civic. i'd get the 8. plus i bet in a year or two, there will me a million si's on the street.

And suffer the huge depreciation as soon as your drive it off the lot? No thanks. Certified Pre-Owned is a pretty solid deal, you lose way less on resale.

I'd be more embarrased for the person who judges someone based on the car they drive.

It'll probably hold better value than the 8.

I agree with you, but unfortunately, 95% of the general public doesn't.

Yes, America is that shallow.

How much is the Civic? If you're saving 5or 6k, it will take the lesser mpg of the RX-8 10 years to cost you that much.

Call me wrong if I am but I think the RX8 is a level above the Civic Si in class, if not performance. When you talk about an RX8, people equate our cars on the level of the S2000, Nissan 350Z/G35, etc. I can drive my car to a Beverly Hills Restaraunt and not like they would park my car around the corner. When you mention that you drive a Civic Si, it is on the level of a Acura RSX Type S, or Dodge SRT-4, Scion Tc, etc. Not talking about pure performance just class level. Just my opinion.

Good. If you can't buy the gas, don't buy it. I thought you were in the market for a sports car? Guess not... Maybe you just want a nice, reliable, gas mileage car. The Toyota Prius looks better for you than an Si.
