Hey guys,

Im Ray. Im 17 years old and live in Staten Island, NY. I've been around the forum for about 3 months now(since i got my 8 3 months ago), but i never got around to registering.

I have a brand new 2007 velocity red rx-8 grand touring. It has a manual transmission, appearance package, rotary accent pagage, a rear wing spoiler and clear corners.

I know im very fortunate for getting this car as my first car and also learning how to drive stick in it also. But let me tell you that this car is the absolute best. Ever since I got I cant stop driving it or stop thinking about it. I love this car soo much.

So i jus wanted to say hi and let you guys know that im new here.

The car was just washed in these pics, so she's nice and clean.

 

Yes, you are fortunate that's your first car but I would have to say that is not good. An 8 should not be anyone's first car in my opinion, especially if they're still learning to drive stick, and especially if it's in the winter. Hope you don't stall and flood your new engine :-)

Hey man welcome to the club. I'm 17 as well and it's also my first car. It is very easy to go fast in this car and not notice it, so be careful. and have fun!

 

Welcome and congrats. The excitement won't die down very much as I've had mine for 2.5 years and still look for reasons to drive. Enjoy and drive responsibly. I know if I had this car at that age I would have had my license revoked permanently.

thanks. I'll try and get pics up as soon as i can. I got to wash my 8 first, but unfortunately, they predict bad weather tomorrow and i think saturday as well.

 

Nice first car. My son will never experience the feel of a new car when I have a son. I drove a 85 Ford F-150 4 speed. Vtak yo!!!!!!!!!!!

 

When I was 17 I was driving a 73 Ford Pinto,.....if you are ever bored google it for some laughs.

I just bought the very same car. O7 Gt velocity red. Manual trans with black interior. Im 46 years old though lol.... At 17, you WILL be tempted to speed and be under tremendous peer pressure from friends to drive it like you stole it. My advice to you....DON'T DO IT! You have no idea how lucky you are to have this car at your age..... Please drive responsibly and remember, one bad decision can cost's lives and hopefully not yours or others. Don't ruin a good thing and enjoy your beautiful new ride as I am mine. I have owned several new cars in my life, but none have come close to exciting me the way this car does.

 

I know what you mean by the peer pressure. Some of the kids in my school are always telling me "oh we gotta race one day" and i just laughed at them and walked away. They can go wreck their cars by street racing each other and risk getting into an accident or even killed, but for me I love my car and I enjoy living.
