High Mileage maintenance

i was wondering if a couple of things should be done to insure i can keep this baby zooming up beyond 100k. Didn't find any definitive answers in once place relating to this when searching and i'm sure we can discuss this section a bit.

a. compression/dyno test. Going forward would it be a good idea to get a compression and/or a dyno test once a year to make sure things are running in good shape? Most people don't get a compression test until there car is in limp mode or dead. Also are some people who get dyno tests and see inconsistency's from the 7500 - 9000 range can catch ignition/intake troubles before they become big.

b. to premix or not to premix. My car currently burns plenty of oil and i'm on the first fuel filter so i'm leaning towards no. Should i start or are there some signs to start premixing, ie not burning oil.

c. Since the stock engine temp gauge is not very precise would it be good to get some aftermarket gauges to make sure i'm running good especially as i approach the 100k mile stone. I thought this was pretty much useless unless i was running forced injection.
