hmm...im not so sure the governor is 148, because i know i let off once i saw 150 on the speedo during that same stretch of road you speak about just last year when my car turned 9,000 miles. maybe i was heading at a more downward angle. from what i remember (memory gets a bit fuzzy at that speed) the tach was at 8.5k so it was damn close to hitting the governor.
Hmmm... I thought the gov. was supposed to control the top speed.... not the fuel cut-off when you redline...... Correct??

I have gone up to 235kph myself (in my 4port Challenge), while a friend of mine reached 245kph (with a 6port) on the same stretch. I don't think there was any room left for even 1kph more....
And just f.y.i: max theoretical speed of the 8 (both 4port and 6port) according to ratios and final drive is just sort of 300kph (297kph to be exact)
